The Eat Right for Your Type Diet plan created by naturopathic doctor, Peter J. D’Adamo, ND. This unique diet plan is geared around your blood type – A, B, AB, or O. This blood-based conceptual theory does not follow calorie counting or gram counting.
Type A thrives on a vegetarian diet plan that will help turbo charge the immune system and conceivably short circuit the development of life threatening diseases. Foods allowed are vegetables, tofu, seafood, grains, beans, legumes and fruit. Foods to avoid that help with weight loss are meat, dairy, kidney beans, lima beans and wheat. Foods that help for weight loss in this diet plan are vegetable oil, soy proteins, vegetables and pineapple. Gentle exercise is recommended for this blood type.
Type B has a tolerant digestive system and they carry the genetic potential for great malleability and the ability to thrive in changeable conditions, making them most adaptable and flexible. Foods allowed in this diet plan are meat (but not poultry), dairy, grains, beans, legumes, vegetables and fruit. Foods to avoid that keep off the weight are corn, lentil, peanuts, sesame seeds, buckwheat and wheat. Foods in this diet plan that assist for weight loss are greens, eggs, venison, liver, licorice and tea. You should exercise moderately for this blood type.
Type O derives the benefit of a well timed chemical release system and relies on physical exercise to maintain physical health and emotional balance. Foods allowed in this diet plan are meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. Foods to avoid that keep off the weight gain are wheat, corn, kidney beans, navy beans, lentils, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and mustard greens. Foods in this diet plan that help with weight loss are kelp, seafood, salt, liver, red meat, kale, spinach and broccoli. Vagarious exercise is highly recommending for Type O in this Eat Right 4 Your Type Diet plan.
Type AB has a sensitive digestive tract and it’s recommended a combination of both calming activities and more intense physical exercise to help maintain an optimal balance. Foods allowed in this diet plan are meat, seafood, dairy, tofu, beans, legumes,
grains, vegetables and fruits. Foods to avoid that increase weight gain are red meat, kidney beans, lima beans, seeds, corn and buckwheat. Foods that facilitate a positive weight loss are tofu, seafood, dairy, greens, kelp and pineapple. Calming exercises such as yoga or Tai Chi are recommended for this diet plan blood type.
The philosophy behind this diet plan is that a chemical reaction occurs between your blood and the foods you eat according to your blood type. This genetic reaction is caused by a factor called lectins, abundant and diverse proteins found in foods that have intermixing properties that affect your blood.
