Conrad Black: Europe reaps what it sowed

I totally disagree with the worship Martin and Chretien get with regard their economic stewardship. They stole $50 billion from the UI surplus, to pay down the deficit, and that money has never been recouped. They massively cut social programs to the provinces (of which in Ontario, Mike Harris took the full abuse by the disgusting unions while the federal libs got off scot free)of which we have never recovered to the levels we had in the 1990′s.

They layed off some 50,000 public sector (read union) workers, of which the liberal media said nothing, massively cut cbc funding (of which cbc management said nothing, while blaming Harper on the front page of the Globe and Mail last year for them having to lay off 800 people while at the same time Harper increased the budget of the cbc far higher than the liberals did) to the tune of 4000 workers. The cbc was placed under access to information laws by Harper, and as a result, SunMedia has utilized it to find out the upper management of the cbc live a high flying, five star lifestyle, while they lay people off and blame Harper.

The liberals, being who they are and how the media are 100% in bed with them, can get away with murder, while Harris, Mulroney and now Harper are faced with the most hostile, dreadful, phony, fraudulent and criminal analysis of supposedly the elite opinion makers in the media.

I have never seen such fraudulent analysis by the media of a federal PM in my life. And then they got the gall to wonder why Harper has tightened up access to information laws to keep these dispicable thugs from getting their hands on any government information.

As it is, with broad innuendo, they make up the most phony and fraudulent ‘scandals’ on the most scandal free government I have analyzed. Just yesterday, chief stooge at the Star won an analysis award, on a piece that was so full of holes you could drive a mack truck through. And this pinhead is seen on all the political talk shows, as he spouts his fraudulent garbage, all the while he turns his back on the most reckless free spending government I have ever witnessed, in the provincial liberals of McGuinty.

Who truly undermined democracy over the past year, Harper with his prorogue recently, or McGuinty who bought off a family a few days before the OPP commissioner and his top dogs were about to testify as to whether they were directed by the liberals and McGuinty to not enforce the rules with regard natives run amok on a housing development they have hijacked and essentially stolen from the owners?

A month later, charges were dropped against the OPP commissioner by McGuinty’s A-G, once again because he would have faced questions as to whether he was directed by the ontario liberals in his non-enforcement of the rules at the native standoff.

Remember, commissioner Fantino was the first OPP commissioner ever charged (and for a reason, to humiliate him due to the fact, in my view, because he wrote a vicious but truthful analysis of how the federal liberals treated him as police chief in London, and later Toronto). Telling the dirty truth about the liberals just is not allowed in this country.

Thus he was charged, with full blessing of the A-G and McGuinty, because, after all, who would make the ultimate decision to allow charges against the commissioner, and then his charges were dropped. Thus they got their pound of flesh out of him, humiliated him, then let him off, sending a powerful message to him to “shut the f**k up”, as the Toronto Star would put it.

Remember, this is the premier who called a public inquiry into the Ipperwash scandal against Mike Harris and his supposed directing the OPP against the natives there, yet here we have the very same premier, buying off a family, dropping the charges against Fantino, all so he could avoid scrutiny of HIS incompetence on the native file. The unbelievable hypocrisy of it all is simply incredible. And rumour is that Andre Marin will be let go later this year, since, after all, he is doing something that simply isn’t allowed in this country: pointing out liberal waste and other such things.

All the while the entire media establishment in this country said nothing. Yet Harper is the one singled out for undermining democracy. It is enough to make you sick. All the while they piss in the face of our military, surreptitiously accusing them of being guilty of war crimes, while showing no inclination of any real world analysis of what truly is going on in afghanistan; instead, focusing on the afghan detainee fraud while they said nothing when the liberals were transferring some 40 detainees over to the big bad Americans during Bush’s rule while Chretien and Martin were PM.

And just this past week, we finally had a former liberal minister testify at the house of commons committee meeting on afghanistan. Bill Graham, the former defence and foreign affairs minister during the afghan war in the mid 2000′s, was testifying about their transfer of 40 or so detainees over to the americans, and also the flawed agreement they signed just before the 2006 election.

And which committee meeting do you suppose every network in this country chose to analyze? Why of course the Guergis-Jaffer non-scandal. The cbc showed THAT committee meeting live, purposely choosing NOT to show a former LIBERAL defence minister testifying at the very same time. Yet they sure as hell did show Richard Colvin’s testimony live last fall. And on all the political shows that night, not one mention of Graham testifying except for a ten minute puff piece by Soloman. The next day, the cbc pretended it never happened, not mentioning again what was said there.

And over on cpac, they purposely decided not to show this committee meeting that night. They always show committee meetings of relevance later in the evening. Not that night. They chose instead to show the testimony at the Guergis-Jaffer meeting, with no analysis at all by Van Dusen as to what Graham had said. And they did not even give us the ability to watch it on their internet website as they always routinely do. You can view it now, but still to this point, primetime politics, soloman and ctv powerplay have not at all analyzed what Graham had to say. Why not?

Is this not the story they all have been obsessing over since colvin’s testimony last fall? Of course! Yet when a liberal defence minister is testifying, they bury the story.

Remember, Graham and PM Martin were directly responsible for placing Canada in the most dangerous part of afghanistan, khandahar. Due to Mr. Dither’s dithering, we found ourselves too late to make a safe part of the country to deploy to, according to Brian Stewart at the cbc, and instead found ourselves stuck with the most dangerous part of the country.

They then, must take the full blame for our combat deaths. Therefore, this is the reason why none of the media wanted anyone to know that he was testifying. They don’t want anyone to know it was the liberals’ bad decisions that lead to our military deaths, and it was them who then are to blame for us being in contact with the enemy where we wouldn’t be if we were in the safe parts of afghanistan.

Thus, we would never have been in the position to take prisoners, and this whole afghan detainee issue never would have occurred. But the media in this country don’t want you to know this, so they bury it. I urge all to go to cpac to watch Bill Graham’s testimony. It is very informative, and it is even more informative that cpac only put it on their tv network late on a friday night, when people are out, watching a movie, asleep or visiting friends. This is how cpac works. Remember, cpac is run by the cable companies, who themselves are owned by billionaire liberal friendly families.

This is a routinely dirty trick cpac constantly plays. They show informative and relevent committee meetings and senate meetings late at night, on a friday or saturday night, or early in the morning on a weekday. If you don’t watch these meetings, you are missing out. This is where the real truth lies in our federal politics. Most media in this country refuse to cover these meetings, and the one’s they do, routinely are the one’s the most harmful for the federal conservatives.

The media cherry pick the most damaging testimony to the conservatives and place these at the top of their newscasts or radio broadcasts or webpages. Yet when the conservatives rebut any harful testimony to them, these clips are never show. I urge you to watch the conservatives destroy Colvin’s testimony last fall when they were questioning him. But these clips never saw the light of day in any media outlet in this country.

And just two weeks ago, two top military men totally destroyed Colvin’s credibility, rebutting what he said. But once again, this testimony was not seen on any media outlet in this country. Although DiManno over at the Star did a great analysis of this testimony on Friday. Read her column as well. But as it is, this is how the dirty, fraudulent game of politics is played by our media. Please, Fox News, won’t you open up a network in Canada?
